With the Efficiency Roadmap, GreenOrder conducts an independent, cross-functional assessment of your business to identify and prioritize quick wins that can be substantively implemented within the next 1-18 months. Energy efficiency is a core objective, but savings can also be found in the areas of water, waste management, sourcing, logistics, product design and packaging, and everyday employee behavior.

How the Process Works

Pre-Engagement: Gather and organize supporting data

Provide your company with a checklist of data requests, including quantitative and qualitative information necessary to understand and investigate the business’s core impact areas.

Days 1-15: Identify core opportunity areas

Look across your business’ operations and market-facing activities to identify the efficiency areas with the highest immediate savings potential (e.g., facilities, transportation, or product design), based on GreenOrder’s expertise and benchmarking against comparable organizations. Consider government or other incentives that can boost savings opportunities.

Deliverable: Identification of core opportunity areas

Days 16-30: Develop savings strategies

Develop specific recommendations for how you can achieve savings in your key opportunity areas (based on ease of implementation and total savings potential). Consult functional experts within your organization to ensure that savings strategies are detailed, actionable, and appropriate.

Deliverable: Outline of top savings strategies within each opportunity

Days 31-45: Finalize the Efficiency Roadmap

Create a Roadmap for executing on the savings strategies — to establish expectations, organize staff, and track progress. A key feature is a calculation of your anticipated savings and environmental impact in each opportunity area. This data can be used to engage board members, shareholders, employees, and other important stakeholders.

Deliverable: Savings roadmap with timeline, action items, milestones, and estimated impact/savings
